'Melissa and Joey' Gave Nick Robinson and Sterling Knight Their Acting Starts

'Melissa and Joey' follows "[Melissa, played by Melissa Joan Hart} when her sister ends up in prison and her brother-in-law disappears, local politician Mel Burke steps in to take responsibility for her teenage niece Lennox (Taylor Spreitler) and adolescent nephew Ryder (played by Nick Robinson). Realizing quickly she's in over her head, Mel welcomes help in the unlikely form of Joe Longo (played by Joey Lawrence) -- formerly a commodities trader -- who moves in and becomes the family's "manny" ... that is until Joe goes from being Mel's employee to becoming her husband when they marry."


The series took place on ABC from 2010 to 2015 and was the tv show that played as the breakout roles for both Nick Robinson and Sterling Knight.


Nick Robinson is an American 26-year-old Actor who has become very well known in recent years with many well known films since his time on 'Melissa and Joey.' Upon his departure from the tv series Robinson starred in 'Jurassic World (2015)', 'Being Charlie (2015)', 'Everything, Everything (2017)', 'Love; Simon (2018)', and two recent films 'A Teacher (2020)' and 'Love, Victor (2020).'


Through his work in the 2018 film 'Love, Simon Robinson has gained quite the attention earning him four awards including an MTV award for best kiss, a Human Rights Campaign award for Ally for Equality ,a Maui Film Award for Rising Star, and two Teen Choice Awards for breakout movie star, and choice ship.


A similar story happen for Sterling Knight who played Zander Carlson. Knight has made quite the career for himself earning roles in 'Hannah Montana (2006-2011)', 'Starstruck (2010),' '17 Again! (2009),' and 'Sonny with a Chance (2009-2011).' Knight is an American 32-year-old actor. Sterling also currently participates on "Cameo," making videos for individuals, and he continuously sings covers of songs and his own music. He became very known for his song "Hero" on the movie 'Starstruck,' which debuted on Disney channel. 'Starstruck' became the biggest Disney channel movie that year before 'Camp Rock 2: The Final Jam' hit screens in September that same year.
